ACTIVE & PATIENT

During class, the most important thing you can do for your child is to be an active and patient role model. It is not uncommon for a child to attend several classes before feeling comfortable in class. Don’t be discouraged-what a child is absorbing in class is often evidenced in the comfort of the home environment rather than in a certain level of participation in class. The understanding and consistency of the parent or caregiver in class and at home is key to facilitating learning and growth. When you are an active, focused, enthusiastic participation in class activities, your child will model your actions and focus more fully too.

SUBSCRIBER INFORMATION

The subscriber plan charges our families on a monthly basis on the 1st of every month. Families can become enroll in a class at anytime during the school year and only be charged for the remaining months, which includes materials. There are some scheduled class breaks during Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years. There may be months where there are more or less sessions per month, but keep in mind, we are simply taking the total cost of the sessions and dividing it in payments to make it simpler for everyone.

Subscription is not a contract in that you can cancel at any time during the school year, but cancellation must be sent to our office by email ( to amazingchildmusicstudio@gmail.com) or in writing to your teacher BEFORE the 1st of the upcoming month. Since all charges are made automatically on the 1st, once a charge is processed, refunds will not be given and cancellation will be made for any future months.

HERE ARE SOME CLASS GUIDELINES

ENTERING CLASS

Plan to arrive about 5 minutes early for class. Arriving a little before class provides time for your child to settle in to the environment as they prepare to enjoy exploring instruments, reading books, or listening to music. Please do not arrive much earlier than that as your educator may be wrapping up another class. All classes begin on time; please try to be prompt. Occasionally, being late is difficult to avoid-please enter the classroom as quietly as possible.

PARTICIPATION

Remember that parent/caregiver participation is a key ingredient to success in our early childhood classes. Your commitment to regular attendance and ongoing participation with your child during class will lead to more satisfaction, sense of accomplishment and enjoyment for your child and you!

Some of our classes for the older child, parents will be invited to come in at the end of the class to observe, participate and/or gather information for home enhancement activities

CELL PHONES

Please turn off or silence your cell phone before entering into the classroom. If you should need to talk on your cell phone, please take your child with you, and step outside.

DRINKS AND SNACKS

Please leave juice and snacks in the car with the exception of those babies nursing or bottle-feeding

WHAT TO WEAR AND BRING

Kids (and parents) should wear comfortable clothes; we do a lot of movin’ and shaking’… We have a NO SHOES policy for parents and children, so please come prepared to go barefoot or wear socks. For the babies only, please bring a blanket for your baby to lie on during floor activities.

SICKNESS

A good guideline to follow is to be fever free for 24 hours, and for a nose not to be running with anything other than clear. It is VERY common for babies and toddlers to have runny noses due to teething. It is VERY hard to distinguish that from being sick. If you at all feel that your baby is under the weather, remain home and schedule a makeup class. In class we have a “sanitation station” so after instruments/toys/props have been used, they are immediately sprayed. Your teacher will guide all class members to follow our sanitation station policy.

MAKEUP CLASSES

You can make up as many classes as you miss, but they must be made up within the same session/school year you are enrolled in. Makeups do not carry over to future sessions. To attend a makeup, you must reserve your space by signing up. Each class has limited reserved spaces for students to make up missed classes. Makeup spaces are on a first come first serve basis.

There are no credits or refunds given for any unattended classes or an unfinished semester. You are financially responsible for the entire class tuition amount and any home material that you requested or ordered. Your payments are processed on the 1st of each month. Once these payments are charged, they cannot be refunded.

HURRICANE/CANCELLATION POLICY

In the event of an imminent hurricane or other natural disaster, keep a look at what school districts are doing regarding closures. You can keep an eye on the news for school closures or on their respective websites or Facebook pages. If there is a school closure on a day you have class, you can makeup that class in any of the other age appropriate classes that run through the school year. Be assured we will work it out and you’ll get in your missed class. When possible, we’ll schedule a hurricane makeup week. We always want you to do what is best for you and your family, so even if schools remain open and you feel unsafe to drive, please stay home and we welcome you do to a makeup class anytime throughout our school year all the way into May. We do not offer or process refunds that occur which affects our programming caused by hurricane, flood, government requirement, civil or military authority, act of God, or other similar causes beyond our control as this is not the fault or negligence of Amazing Child Music and Enrichment Studio.

In the event your educator has to miss more than a scheduled week due to vacation/illnesses/ family emergency, you can makeup that class in any of the other age appropriate classes that run through the school year. Be assured we will work it out and you’ll get in your missed classes and if needed we will schedule make-up week at the end of the session so that everyone has an opportunity to make up their missed session(s).

NON-ENROLLED SIBLINGS

For our Kindermusik and other parent/child classes, due to limited class sizes and the delicacy of the younger class setting, we can only accommodate siblings if they are young enough to stay content in carrier or sit next to parent and sibling. We will do our best to include non-enrolled sibling in as many activities as possible, but due to the structure of some of the classes, they may not be able to participate in all activities. We encourage siblings to bring a book to read during those times when they may not want to or can not participate. Emergency exceptions are considered. For our other enrichment classes we invite you and your other children to enjoy our waiting room.

Some of our classes offer all-age classes where both children can be enrolled and the activities are accommodated to meet the needs of children of all ages. This type of class may be of interest for families who would like their children to participate in the same class.

DISRUPTIVE BEHAVIOR

Children make all kinds of sounds during the class. We call it vocalizing. However, if your child is really upset, we want you to know you are in a supportive space. Do what you need to help your child recover if a hug, some reassurance, or just providing him/her time to regroup and come back to join the class as soon as he/she is ready. Should your child become curious about our music source or instruments, please re-direct him/her if your teacher is unable to.

SPECIAL NEEDS

Music as well as our other classes helps in neurological, physical, emotional, social and cognitive development. We ask that parents talk with their teacher so that we may learn more about your child and together we can make decisions on how to best adapt the class.
